The PowerUp Entrepreneurship Programme 5.0, an initiative by Access Bank, in collaboration with NerdzFactory Foundation, successfully empowered young Nigerians with essential entrepreneurial skills, enabling them to bridge the gap between ideation and actualisation.

Participants gained insights into critical areas such as Digital Marketing, Financial Management, designing a pitch deck and effectively pitching their business ideas, developing comprehensive business plans and models, generating funds for their businesses, and branding. These topics were integral to fostering a well-rounded understanding of entrepreneurship and ensuring participants were well-prepared for real-world challenges.

The PowerUp Entrepreneurship Programme adopted a hybrid training model, combining both physical and virtual sessions to maximise accessibility for participants.

Highlighting the impact of the programme, which was open to a diverse groups, including young graduates, final-year students, unemployed youth, NYSC Corps members, girls aged 18-35, aspiring entrepreneurs and existing entrepreneurs, Director at NerdzFactory Foundation, Ade' Olowojoba, harped on the vital role of cultivating an entrepreneurial mindset among Nigerian youths.

He said: "As our economic landscape continues to evolve, empowering young people with the skills and knowledge to navigate these changes is essential. The PowerUp Programme serves as a dynamic platform that enables aspiring entrepreneurs to discover and seize business opportunities, equipping them with the tools they need to thrive and succeed in their ventures."

The programme promised a host of benefits, including increased youth participation in entrepreneurship, support in identifying business opportunities that can be initiated with minimal capital, improved access to finance for existing businesses, and the development of vital business skills. Additionally, the programme promoted collaboration and networking, creating job opportunities and contributing to economic growth.
